Theodor Herzl Benjamin Ze’ev (Theodor) Herzl (Hungarian: Herzl Tivadar, Hebrew: בנימין זאב הרצל (Binyamin Ze’ev Herzl)) (May 2, 1860 — July 3, 1904) was an Austro-Hungarian Jewish journalist who founded modern political Zionism. Herzl was born in Budapest, Hungary, but his family moved to Vienna when Theodor was 18. There, he studied law, but he devoted himself almost exclusively to journalism and literature, working as a correspondent for the Neue Freie Presse in Paris, occasionally making special trips to London and Istanbul. Later, he became literary editor of Neue Freie Presse,and wrote several comedies and dramas for the Viennese stage. The Leader of the Zionists It is widely believed that Herzl was motivated by the Dreyfus Affair, a notorious anti-Semitic incident in France in which a French Jewish army captain was falsely convicted of spying for Germany. Herzl had been covering the trial of Dreyfus for an Austro-Hungarian newspaper. He also witnessed mass rallies in Paris following the Dreyfus trial where many chanted “Death To The Jews!”, and in June, 1895, he wrote in his diary: “In Paris, as I have said, I achieved a freer attitude toward anti-Semitism… Above all, I recognized the emptiness and futility of trying to ‘combat’ anti-Semitism.” Song: Stout-Hearted Men sung by Nelson Eddy. Medinat Israel is the only and final way for the Jewish people. Don’t mix it with the opinion ultraorthodox or Chabad. They think total different on Jewish people. Just an example: even their relatives had been killed in the Holocaust, and even they would be killed by our enemies if Israel wouldn’t exist. In Israel we are a nation with own territory, language, culture and history.
I think regards to the ist, For someone to be a part of zion, he or she would be considered a zionist, because not all jews support zion today like most jews in Chabad, go ask a Chabad Rabbi what he thinks of Zion, he will be careful telling you his opionion but the more observant jews will keep themself away from any zionist movement. I think because of some of the radical things that are done, but I really think to protect yourself, everything should be done so i dont feel zion is bad.

Please, the use of the word Zionist???? I fully understand Judaism and obviously understand Eretz Zion, but why is an ‘ist’ suffix used in the word Zion as if to apparently maybe derogatively cliche?

Nice video clip though of Herzl, not sure what to say but i think he had good ways about him as well, he was proud of who he was, its just the people who took over zionist ways, it turned into a non religious force that wants to control all israelis, I honor him in certain ways, he wasnt the evil. yes zionist is bitter sweet to the world, great example is to look at how israel is now, it also made its soup and is brewing in it. many are leaving to get away from the zionist ways, not all jews are zionist and many that are do not know what it stands for now, radical is radical, I live in the middle of this soup and will look else where for living.
Dreyfus was a perfect example of how france as a whole was very racist, nothing has changed, france still the same but sitting in there soup they made with all the african people, i guess when u have territories u must allow the people u steal from to come live in your country, france soon will be so swamped with there hate that it will soon just be a country called france, to hate to an extreme is bad and comes back at you. intellect always wins, but mass amounts of primitive can over populate
