“A day to Celebrate Polish heritage” Pndcadena’s photos around Bartlett, United States
A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Bartlett, United States by TravelPod blogger Pndcadena titled “A day to Celebrate Polish heritage” Pndcadena’s travel blog entry: “We went back to the Mapleberry restaurant for breakfast this morning then off to the Polish Museum of America. This is the oldest ethnic museum in Chicago. In the foyer on the 3rd floor there is a beautiful sled that is over 200 years old. It was carved out of one big log. The King of Poland had it made as a Christmas present for his young daughter. I also learned more about a few famous Polish people who were an important part of our American history that we never hear or talk about in our schools. (I wonder why???) Tadeusz Kosciuszko was born in Poland in 1746. He was a military leader and an engineer. When he heard the Americans were fighting for their freedom, he offered to help. He came to America and build forts along the Hudson River to stop the English ships from shelling the land. Congress made him a General. After the war, he was rewarded with land in America for his services. In his will, he told Thomas Jefferson to sell the land and use the money to buy Slaves and give them their freedom and educate them to be self sustaining. Kosciuszko loved freedom and he wanted all people to be free. (Use this man for a Black History Month school report.) Casimir Pulaski was born in Poland in 1747. He was a great horse soldier in Poland. Benjamin Franklin asked him to come to America and …
Just a snapshot of an ordinary crossroad somewhere in always busy downtown Colombo. About Colombo: Colombo (Sinhala: කොළඹ, pronounced [ˈkoləmbə]; Tamil: கொழும்பு) is the largest city and former capital of Sri Lanka. It is located on the west coast of the island and adjacent to Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte, the capital. Colombo is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of modern life and colonial buildings and ruins[2] and a city population of 647100.[1] The Colombo Metropolitan Region, defined by the districts of Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara, has an estimated population of 5648000, and covers an area of 3694.20 km².[3][4] Due to its large harbour and its strategic position along the East-West sea trade routes, Colombo was known to ancient traders 2000 years ago. However it was only made the capital of the island when Sri Lanka was ceded to the British Empire in 1815,[5] and its status as capital was retained when the nation became independent in 1948. In 1978, when administrative functions were moved to Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, Colombo was designated as the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Like many cities, Colombo’s urban area extends well beyond the boundaries of a single local authority, encompassing other Municipal and Urban Councils. The main city is home to a majority of Sri Lanka’s corporate offices, restaurants and entertainment venues.[6] Famous landmarks in Colombo include the Galle Face Green, the Viharamahadevi Park as well as the National Museum …

Comment la chanson “Il y avait” figurant sur le premier single de Lara Fabian est devenue l’instrumental “By Night” … Toute l’histoire: —————– Story of this music “By Night ” (variations sur le thème de ” Il y avait ” – Lara Fabian). CHAPTER ONE: In 1987, Marc Lerchs, a young belgian composer (www.marclerchs.net ), was in the RTBF’s studio, to record a single for the french singer Lara Fabian. He asked his friend, Steven Brown (Tuxedomoon) to add a sax solo on the song “Il y Avait” (face B). Steven took his soprano sax, and made an outstanding improvisation on all the song. The second take was the good one. Nikolas Klau, who used to perform with Steven Brown many times, add himself a bass track. Recorded @ RTBF by Yvan Léonard. Mixed @ RTBF by Marc Lerchs. The Lara Fabian’s first single was a success she was choosen to go to the Eurosong contest in Dublin in 1988. But the composer keeps only the sax solo on the song “Il y avait”, and all the rest of the sax improvisation was lost. (You can listen “Il y avait” on Youtube (search Lara Fabian + Il y avait ) . Few months later, the composer of the song did an instrumental remix, with the full sax track. This is the music here posted. This music was called “By Night”, signed by Steven Brown and Marc Lerchs, and copyrighted @ the belgium Sabam. VIDEO PROVISOIRE ! ORIGINAL VIDEO: COMING SOON (Tournage en cours). ———————- CHAPTER TWO In 2002, Marc Lerchs was in charge with the EURO BRIDGE SHOW. He …

Rita Faye Coolidge (born May 1, 1945) is a multiple Grammy Award-winning American vocalist. During the ’70s and ’80s, she charted hits on Billboard’s Pop, Country, Adult Contemporary and Jazz charts. She is of Scottish and Cherokee Native American ancestry.[1][2] Coolidge was born in Lafayette, Tennessee. She graduated from Andrew Jackson Senior High in Jacksonville, Florida in 1963. After high school, she attended Florida State University, where she earned a BA Coolidge was married to Kris Kristofferson from 1973 — 1980. They have one daughter, Casey. Coolidge previously had romantic liaisons with Stephen Stills and Graham Nash; her leaving Stills for Nash has been cited as a contributing factor behind the initial breakup of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.[3] David Crosby memorialized this situation in his song “Cowboy Movie” (from the album If I Could Only Remember My Name, 1971); Coolidge is the “sweet little Indian girl” of the song. Stills has referenced his relationship with Coolidge in his work as well; he refers to her by the nickname “the Raven” in his song “Sit Yourself Down” (Stephen Stills, 1970) and similarly named one side of his first album with Manassas (Manassas, 1972) in her honor. She now lives in Fallbrook, a small town in southern California. She is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.[4] [edit]Early career Coolidge began her career as a backing vocalist for artists such as Delaney & Bonnie, Joe Cocker, Eric Clapton and Leon Russell. Her first …
